Midland Title Agency of Stark County, Ltd. is a locally owned, independent, full service title company serving Stark and surrounding counties in Ohio. Attorney John Niles Sponseller founded the company in 1968 as the first independent title agent for Midland Title. His daughter, Attorney Nancy J. Rothermel, acquired the family-owned business upon John’s retirement in 2008. Long-time employee Brenda K. Lyon now owns and manages Midland Title Agency, having acquired the company in January, 2022. Starting out as a title examiner/abstractor in 1983 and obtaining her title agent’s license in 2003, Brenda has performed every job aspect of the title company. Her experience and knowledge assures clients that every transaction is handled professionally and with an eye to detail. She personally oversees the progress of every file from receipt of the order to final closure. MTA is one of the few title companies in Stark County to employ a staff title examiner. Linda Lyons has the experience and knowledge of the county records to process title searches efficiently and accurately. Our office personnel assist in processing orders, signings, and support work to ensure that every transaction meets and exceeds our reputation for excellence in service and product.
